What do you do when you’ve got an old Craftsman belt sander which is missing the table and, like all old craftsman stuff, has no parts available? Make one!
Needs a new belt, too.
Removed part of a 1.5x2" steel angle and bent it 90 degrees to reach the bolt holes. It didn’t go as sharp as I’d like (should have notched it slightly, don’t really need the full 1/8" thickness
) but once spaced out a little from the belt it should be fine. It’s square at least.
Still need to drill the holes and bolt that end in place, then do the same thing on the other side to secure the other end. Not too bad for $5 in materials
. Hopefully it works because I’d really like to be able to use this sander for smaller parts (without the table it just sort of shoots stuff across the room).

Ahh, Craftsman. *Sniff*
Damn you Sears, why'd you have to run yourself into the ground? If I ever see Eddie Lambert in person I’m gonna kick his ass so good.

Sears is dead. It’s just a real-estate liquidation company now. We’ll see what Stanley does with the Craftsman brand.
